Tips for Making the Most of the Summer Schedule
To get the best results from this summer’s training and meets, consider these practical tips:
Plan Ahead
Mark all practice times and meet dates on your calendar. Consistency is key to improvement.
Balance Training and Rest
Use the schedule to avoid overtraining. Rest days are essential for recovery and injury prevention.
Focus on Strength Training
Participate in the lifting programs to build power, which translates into better performance on the runway.
Set Goals for Each Meet
Whether it’s improving a personal best or trying a new event, having clear goals keeps you focused.
Stay Hydrated and Eat Well
Summer heat can be challenging. Proper nutrition and hydration support endurance and recovery.
Communicate with Coaches
Ask questions and seek feedback during practice to address weaknesses and build strengths.
QCVA Club Prom
This meet is our fun take on a club relay meet. All club members are invited to compete. "Prom Dates" are assigned from the field of athletes based on their seed. The two athletes combined height will be the deciding factor for who wins and makes podium. Registration will close the Wednesday night before the meet (June 24th).
Preparing for the Senior Sendoff Meet
The August 9th Senior Sendoff Meet is a highlight of the summer. It celebrates the achievements of senior athletes and provides a chance for the whole club to come together. Newer athletes can learn from seniors’ experiences and send them off with a bang.
